Specialist Physician position in the Centralized Services line at HUS Psychiatry starting September 1, 2026! We are seeking a specialist physician for HUS Psychiatry for a hospitalist role. The position is located within the centralized services line, but the hospitalist serves various functions across HUS Psychiatry. The role involves the diagnosis and treatment of somatic diseases for psychiatric patients in psychiatric wards and outpatient care. Additionally, the hospitalist's duties include infection control, developing smoking cessation programs, operating models for somatic emergencies, and medication safety content, collaborating with exercise and nutrition therapists, as well as observing general somatic development needs and long-term development and teaching together with the HUS Psychiatry hospitalist team. Work is performed as part of a multidisciplinary team in close cooperation with treating psychiatrists and physicians specializing in psychiatry. Join us in developing impactful care! Experience working with psychiatric patients is considered an advantage. For this position, the suitable specialty is general medicine. Language requirements: good oral and written skills in Finnish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Swedish, or good oral and written skills in Swedish and satisfactory oral and written skills in Finnish. We require vaccination protection in accordance with the Communicable Diseases Act for those working in customer and patient areas, and a health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis for those working in healthcare units.
