Welcome to join the services for families with children at the Eastern and Northern Lapland Family Center! Our inspiring and collaboration-committed team is looking for a strong family work expert to support families in everyday challenges and work closely with other professionals. Work begins as agreed, but no later than September 1, 2026. Key tasks of the family worker include family work, intensive family work, professional support relationship activities, as well as supervised and supported meetings, handovers, and home service tasks for families with children. The family worker may also act as a partner in assessing service needs. Family work aims to strengthen the family's resources and parenting, and to support internal family interaction. The work is mobile and takes place in families' homes, operating environments, and networks. The family worker's working hours may vary between 7:00 AM and 8:00 PM. Work mainly takes place on weekdays, but if the family's situation requires it, individual shifts may also occur on weekends. The primary place of work is Kittilä, but work may also take place elsewhere in the service area. We offer: - Weekly team meetings, support from the immediate supervisor, and necessary work supervision to support the work. - Position-specific salary of €3,008.20/month. - Flexibility in work, e.g., through flexible working hours. We require: - A suitable university of applied sciences degree (e.g., Socionomi). In the absence of applicants meeting the eligibility criteria, the position may be filled temporarily for a maximum of one year by a person studying for a suitable university of applied sciences degree. - A driver's license and the possibility of using your own car. - Excellent Finnish language skills. We value: - Work experience in services for families with children. - Good cooperation and interaction skills, as well as the ability to work independently. - Methodological expertise, e.g., "Children's Voices" (lapset puheeksi), NEPSY guidance, substance abuse and psychiatry expertise. Terms of employment are determined according to the SOTE agreement. The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Regarding staff vaccination protection, we follow the vaccination protection required by the Working Health and Safety and Communicable Diseases Acts. The selected candidate must present a criminal record extract as required by the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). Priority in filling the position will be given to employees of the Lapland wellbeing services county who are under threat of redundancy, provided they meet the eligibility criteria for the position.
