Practical Nurse

We are looking for a practical nurse for a long-term substitute position on acute geriatric ward 22. Substitutes are also available on other wards. We also consider students in the application; the work is three-shift work. On the ward, multi-morbid elderly patients are treated and rehabilitated in a multidisciplinary team. Patients come for follow-up care by referral from the City of Helsinki's own emergency units and HUS area hospitals. The primary goal of treatment is the patient's rehabilitation to home or a follow-up care place. The rehabilitation and discharge plan starts from the first days when the patient arrives at the ward. We work closely with other professional groups from different fields and relatives. Our working time planning works flexibly, in accordance with the Working Hours Act and healthy working hours recommendations. New employees are oriented to their tasks, with the support of a teaching nurse, an orientation nurse, and our own nurses on the ward. We require registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority. Good oral and satisfactory written skills in Finnish. The task requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a tuberculosis certificate according to Section 55. The task requires the successful completion of the LOP/LOVe LOP medication permit no later than one month after starting work. Experience in acute care and the use of Apotti is considered an advantage in the task.
