The Library, Archive and Archaeological Collections unit is also responsible for the Finnish Heritage Agency's archaeological collections, including their growth, research, and accessibility. The unit handles citizen finds and decides on matters regarding the redemption of antiquities and the transfer of redemption rights. The duties of the archaeological collections trainee include assisting tasks such as barcoding and retrieving materials. In this role, you will gain diverse experience in collection management and collection logistics. You will have the opportunity to work with unique materials and see the collections up close. This position is part of the government's goal to hire 500 young people for new fixed-term employment relationships during 2026. The positions are intended for 18–25-year-olds seeking their first job in the state sector. The selected person must not have other public financial support during the internship period. The selected person does not necessarily have to be a student; you may also be, for example, a recent graduate. We offer the trainee comprehensive orientation and guidance throughout the employment period. The place of work is the Collection and Conservation Centre in Vantaa. There are no statutory eligibility requirements for the position. The position is subject to a one (1) month probationary period.
