Project Researcher

Come join Hämeenlinna City Museum as a project researcher for built cultural environments. The position is a fixed-term role for 2–3 months starting 1 September 2026 or as agreed. Responsibilities include transferring inventory data of built cultural environments from the Kanta-Häme region to the museum’s cultural environment database (TUPA) manually and organizing inventories in line with the data model. Updating inventory data for the Forssa region as needed, including field visits and valuation work in coordination with a steering group. The researcher also participates in drafting storage instructions for the database. The role requires a suitable master’s level degree or advanced studies in art history, architecture, or cultural environment research. It requires knowledge of built cultural environments, inventory methods, basic computer skills, a valid B-driver’s license, and access to a personal car. Experience with building inventories, cultural environment studies, and digitizing inventory data is advantageous.
