We are looking for a Warehouse Manager to develop and lead our warehouse operations. Sun Effects Oy is a design and production company that also rents high-quality event equipment and imports lighting equipment. In addition to lighting, lifting and rigging equipment, we store set and decoration materials that are not always suited to conventional stage storage. Each equipment group requires its own storage, packing and handling methods, and this is where we need your expertise. As Warehouse Manager, you will run the day-to-day warehouse operation, lead a small team in a practical manner and understand the business potential of the equipment. In addition to experience, we hope you have your own perspective on warehouse management: how to organise space, locations, goods flows and work stages so that equipment can be found, stays in good condition and moves smoothly. Technicians hired for projects usually handle packing and unpacking equipment for events. Your responsibilities • Lead daily warehouse operations: picking, dispatch and return inspections, equipment maintenance and arranging repairs, stocktaking, warehouse order and safety, and suitable storage and packing solutions for different equipment groups. • Manage goods flows: imported lighting equipment and daily parcel dispatches and receipts also pass through the warehouse. Ensure incoming and outgoing deliveries are recorded, checked and sent on time. • Supervise hourly warehouse employees and freelancers working as needed: plan shifts, provide onboarding, allocate tasks and ensure everyone knows what is being done and why. • Ensure adequate resources by booking additional help when needed, taking peak periods and holidays into account. • Improve the profitability of the rental operation: monitor equipment utilisation and condition, contribute to purchasing and pricing, ensure damage, shortages and extra work are recorded and billed, and serve rental customers at collection and return. • Coordinate logistics: plan loads and communicate smoothly with production, sales and logistics partners about transport schedules. • Develop warehouse operations, including processes, use of Rentman, barcode/RFID labelling, occupational safety and space utilisation. • Work closely with maintenance, producers and sales, bringing the warehouse perspective into projects already at the planning stage. What we hope you bring • Understanding of the rhythm of the event industry and willingness to learn what the equipment requires. Experience in events, AV, lighting, sound or rental is an advantage but not essential. • Supervisory or work-leading experience, preferably also with temporary event workers. • Commercial understanding: you see the equipment as capital that generates value when well maintained and correctly used. • Experience with warehouse management or rental systems; knowledge of Rentman is an advantage. • An organised approach and ability to see the bigger picture: you can organise, anticipate and withstand pressure, keeping things under control while several productions, rentals and deliveries are underway. • Clear communication in Finnish and English. • Good basic skills in office software, such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace. • A category B driving licence and occupational safety card. Considered an advantage • Experience in process development. • Forklift skills. • A category C driving licence and load-securing skills. • Experience coordinating transport or subcontractors and monitoring costs. What we offer • A central role in a growing event-industry company, where you can influence how warehousing and rentals operate. • Permanent, full-time work with varied duties in an interesting industry. • Salary: €3,300–€3,800 per month depending on experience and skills. • Benefits: sports and culture benefit, occupational healthcare and phone benefit. The workplace is in Roihupelto, Helsinki. Working hours are mainly on weekdays, but the nature of the industry occasionally requires flexibility in the evenings and at weekends. How to apply Email your application, CV and details of any referees to HR Director Merri Haanpää no later than 30 October, with “Varastopäällikkö” as the subject. The role starts in February 2027 or by agreement. Applicants will be interviewed during the application period. For further information about the role, contact Ada Hämes on Friday 16 October from 13:00 to 15:00 or Thursday 22 October from 10:00 to 12:00.
