Mining Engineer - Mine Planner

We are seeking a mining engineer for the Southern Ore Belt development project. In this role you will be responsible for long- and short-term planning, ensuring safe, feasible and cost-effective progression of the project within the development team. You will work closely with specialists in geology, metallurgy, geotechnics and environment. You will contribute your expertise to a project that will define the future of Finnish mining industry. Key responsibilities include drafting and updating mining, sequencing, and eventually production plans; designing mine layout, haul routes, waste/storage areas and production interfaces; once production starts, ensuring that production planning supports the long-term operation of the concentrator and production targets; utilizing geological models, survey data and production run-throughs in planning; producing maps, plans and technical reports to support decision-making and permitting. Location and reporting: the site will be Pampalo mine in Ilomantsi or Endomines headquarters in Tapiola, Espoo. You will report to the project manager of the development project. In early phases work may be partially remote, but as the project moves to construction we require on-site presence in Ilomantsi. If you do not reside in the area, we can arrange shared accommodation.
