Field Manager

Field Manager, fixed-term family-leave substitute MTK-Varsinais-Suomi ry is a regional interest organisation for farms and rural businesses that promotes its members’ economic success and well-being. We actively work on behalf of rural livelihoods, landowners and rural communities in Southwest Finland. We are seeking a temporary substitute for our permanent Field Manager from 4 January 2027 to 31 January 2028. The assignment may continue if the permanent postholder’s family leave continues. As Field Manager, you will act as an expert who advances the organisation’s objectives among decision-makers, stakeholders and members. You have strong experience and understanding of agriculture and a desire to advocate for it. The following areas are emphasised in your work: - Advocacy and interest representation: You participate in public debate and decision-making, prepare statements, and promote the operating conditions of agriculture, forestry and rural livelihoods. - Organisational work and development: You act as secretary to the board, participate in committee preparations, develop the organisation’s work, and strengthen member recruitment and members’ expertise. - Cooperation and networks: You build and maintain relationships with regional working groups, stakeholders and partners, and represent the organisation at various events. - Well-being: You promote the implementation in our region of systems related to farmers’ occupational well-being. - Consumers and markets: You carry out consumer-related work and cooperate with stakeholders. What we expect from you We expect you to understand agriculture and primary production, be interested in public advocacy, be able to grasp broad issues and have excellent communication skills. Initiative, the ability to work independently, cooperation skills and flexibility are essential for success in the role. Experience in organisational work, decision-making processes and political advocacy is an advantage. We encourage you to apply even if you do not feel you meet all the requirements. What we offer The position is full-time and fixed-term from 4 January 2027 to 31 January 2028. The start date can also be agreed separately. The workplace is MTK-Varsinais-Suomi’s premises. Remote work is possible when the nature of the duties permits it and the conditions for independent work are met. Salary is €3,500–4,000 per month, based on the selected person’s skills, experience and capabilities. We also offer a meal benefit up to the maximum approved by the Finnish Tax Administration.
