We are seeking a nurse for a permanent position at the forensic psychiatry clinic! Nurse! Seize this unique opportunity to join our highly skilled, close-knit workgroup, which includes nurses, occupational therapists, a physician, psychologists, and a social worker. Our forensic psychiatry clinic is the first of its kind in Finland. In addition to the care and examination of patients in its own region, the clinic provides national services. The forensic psychiatry clinic is part of the enhanced ward care and forensic psychiatry unit of the HUS Psychiatry psychosis diseases and forensic psychiatry line. The clinic is located on the Psychiatric Center campus in Helsinki. Once the buildings of the Laakso joint hospital project are completed, the clinic will also move to new premises in the Laakso hospital area. Special tasks include the care and rehabilitation of forensic psychiatric patients, implementing the supervision period determined by THL, and assessing and preventing the risk of violent behavior in patients. The clinic also examines, treats, and rehabilitates other patients with severe symptoms and high-risk patients. Risk assessments and consultations are conducted at the clinic. Various group activities are also part of the clinic's daily routine. Based on an assessment, a care plan is created to support the patient's quality of life. The care plan is developed multidisciplinarily in cooperation with the patient and the network participating in their rehabilitation. The primary forms of treatment are committed and goal-oriented therapeutic relationships, individual meetings, medication evaluation and monitoring, psychoeducation, family and network meetings, and group activities. Patients are met flexibly either remotely, at the clinic's premises, in housing service units, or at the patient's home. Treatment is based on confidential cooperation. The work consists of day shifts. In a small workgroup, matters are agreed upon together, ensuring smoothness and flexibility in the work. We hope applicants have an understanding of and experience in forensic psychiatry as a specialty, good cooperation, interaction, and teamwork skills, an independent approach to work, the ability to operate in changing situations, a development-oriented attitude, and good stress tolerance. Experience in nurse clinic work, proficiency in psychotherapeutic working methods—such as HUS Psychiatry KLT training, sexual anamnesis training, or other applicable method proficiency such as DBT or MBT training—is considered an advantage.
