Library Clerk

Mäntsälä library serves residents with a good spirit and flexibility through the main library and the library bus. We belong to the Kirkes library consortium. Here you can utilize your skills and interests diversely. Shifts and tasks are coordinated through discussion, and learning new things is encouraged. We are looking for a digitally savvy library clerk for a permanent employment contract starting October 1, 2026. You will work in the main library, but sometimes shifts may also be in the library bus. The work includes evening work as well as daily customer service, guidance, and material processing and logistics work; weekend work is also possible. Your duties include communication, web service and digital guidance, and the implementation of video content and streams. You also advise and help staff with digital and device challenges and in learning new things. Material responsibility can be included in the task, e.g., magazine materials and/or games and objects. Our team is tight and relaxed, and you will not have to solve things alone. The Kirkes cooperation and internal municipal cooperation also provide support and ideas for the work. Please be open to new ideas and experiments, naturally meeting customers of different ages, flexible and proactive. We require from you experience in similar tasks in a library, a secondary vocational qualification in the library and information services field, and good Finnish language skills. Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to the municipal official and employment collective agreement. Working time is 36 h 15 min/week. Position-specific salary: 2486.93 eur/month. In addition, an experience bonus can be paid based on previous work experience. A six-month probationary period is followed in the filling of the position. The person selected for the position must, upon request, present an acceptable certificate of their state of health.
