About the role

Job Description As Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for the company's extensive procurement portfolio, process development, supplier management, and contract negotiations. In this role, you will not only manage things on paper but will actively take action and drive changes to completion. You will have the opportunity to develop procurement processes using a data-driven approach. The primary place of work is the Tampere region, but the work locations include all the company's sites in Finland. In particular, there will be work in Northern Finland, and you are ready to work there as needed. At the beginning of the employment, there will be a significant amount of work in Northern Finland, and regularly as the employment continues. Responsibilities You will be holistically responsible for the operational running, development, analysis, and guidance of procurement, ensuring operational efficiency in a changing environment. - Responsible for operational purchasing and the smoothness of daily procurement - Develop and implement new, data-driven procurement processes - Actively participate in the definition and implementation of the ERP system - Analyze procurement data and produce reports using Power BI - Guide and optimize inventory management and inventory turnover - Work closely with production, product development, and plant managers - Ensure the overall cost-efficiency of procurements and the implementation of life-cycle thinking - Responsible for supplier management and contract negotiations We Are Looking For - A suitable higher university degree (e.g., Industrial Engineering and Management, Information Systems, or Mechanical Engineering) - Strong expertise in operational industrial procurement, data utilization, or production planning - Advanced skills in analysis tools such as Excel and Power BI - Fluent skills in Finnish and English - Readiness for regular travel between domestic factories and suppliers, as well as occasional travel to international suppliers - Class B driver's license and access to a private car We Value If You Have - Experience in the development of ERP systems and a desire to take charge of the current system's development work immediately - Evidence of successful change management and process modernization - Proficiency in Swedish, German, or Spanish - Interest in utilizing AI to enhance procurement processes To succeed in the role, you are: - A practical doer for whom operational daily work and "rolling up your sleeves" is natural - Social and a strong communicator - Self-directed and bold - Responsible and systematic - Change-oriented and stress-tolerant Our Recruitment Process Academic Work is handling this search on behalf of its client, who requests that all questions regarding the position be directed to Academic Work.
