About the role

Join HUS Pharmacy, a leadership vantage for pharmaceutical care. The Medicines Safety Team at HUS Pharmacy develops and ensures medication safety across HUS, the Uusimaa, and Kymenlaakso wellbeing regions and Helsinki city, in collaboration with customers and other professionals. The team plays a central role in ensuring safe pharmacotherapy and in developing operating methods for the entire service area. The Medicines Safety Team includes a Medicines Safety Manager, a Head Pharmacist, two Medicines Safety Coordinators, three Regional Medicines Safety Representatives, a ward visit pharmacist and a ward visit pharmacist assistant. We are now recruiting the Head Pharmacist into a permanent position as part of an expert and enthusiastic team. In this role you will work with demanding responsibilities in medicine safety expert and development tasks. You will coordinate and develop ward visits required by Fimea, medicines safety audits, and client-facing instructions and trainings. You will also participate in developing medicine safety practices in cooperation with social and health care professionals and other experts. The position may include team leadership duties and duties of a regional medicines safety representative in the Uusimaa region. Depending on the candidate’s profile, duties may also include quality, teaching, and research work. We value experience in medicines safety work and multidisciplinary collaboration. Experience in basic health care and social services and evidence of development of operations are considered advantages. To succeed you are optimistic, proactive, persistent, and a solution-oriented expert who comfortably collaborates with different professions, enjoys a multidisciplinary work environment, and wants to influence the development of medication safety across a broad region. The job starts on 1 September 2026 or by agreement. Flexible working hours with a hybrid work policy requiring 2–3 days on-site per week. Annual vacation accrual is defined by the collective agreement, up to 38 days/year. Salary follows the SOTE collective agreement for health and social care staff. The starting job-level salary for the Head Pharmacist at HUS Pharmacy is 5803.89 EUR/month. The job-specific pay is determined by the work’s demands. In addition, experience pay is provided based on experience in pharmaceutical tasks.
