The Municipal Technical Works department is responsible for the maintenance, development, and construction of the street network, parks, public areas, and nature sites. The strategic goals of the Municipality of Liminka emphasize vitality and attractiveness, which affects the investment needs and infrastructure development of municipal technical works. The Director is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the department, as well as the effectiveness of its operations and finances. The Director holds a key role in the municipal organization, serving, among other things, as the presenter for municipal technical works to the department's board. The role covers the comprehensive management of the municipal technical works operations, including financial planning and monitoring, investment steering, procurement and contract negotiations, personnel management, and operational development. Additionally, the Director is responsible for planning and managing project funding, stakeholder cooperation, expert tasks in the design and implementation of municipal technical works and green areas, and the involvement of residents. We expect the Director of Municipal Technical Works to have: - experience in supervisory and leadership positions - strong financial expertise and the ability to lead investments and procurements - good knowledge of the municipal technical works sector - excellent interaction skills and ability to cooperate - a development-oriented and goal-driven approach to work - the ability to operate in a changing environment The eligibility requirement for the position of Director of Municipal Technical Works is a suitable university degree. Experience in municipal decision-making and trust-based body work is considered an advantage.
