Automation Project Manager

We’re currently supporting a leading industrial client in the North of the Netherlands who is looking to bring in an experienced Electrical & Industrial Automation Project Manager to support a portfolio of upcoming projects. You will be responsible for managing complex automation and electrical projects across multiple sites, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Location: North Netherlands (multiple sites) Duration: 6–12 months (with potential extension) Start Date: ASAP Language: English (Dutch desirable) Engagement: Freelance / Contract Key Responsibilities: - Managing the full project lifecycle from concept through to commissioning - Leading electrical and automation projects within industrial environments - Coordinating internal teams, contractors, and external suppliers - Overseeing installation, integration, and commissioning of systems - Managing budgets, timelines, and project risks - Ensuring compliance with HSE, quality, and regulatory standards - Reporting progress to key stakeholders and senior management Essential: - Proven experience as a Project Manager within electrical and/or industrial automation projects - Strong knowledge of PLCs, SCADA, and control systems - Experience delivering CAPEX or plant-based industrial projects - Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across engineering and operations - Strong communication and leadership skills - Experience working in industries such as manufacturing, energy, chemicals, or logistics Desirable: - Dutch language skills - Experience working on multi-site or international projects - Background in highly regulated environments (e.g. pharma, chemicals) - Prince2, PMP, or equivalent certification If you are interested in this role, apply below or send your CV to contact@g2recruitment.com
