We are seeking a social worker for a permanent position in the Families Social Work of the Kymenlaakso wellbeing region in Kotka. Family social work in South-Kymenlaakso operates in three family center teams, two in Kotka and one in Hamina. As a social worker you will work with children, youths and their families in diverse assessment and client processes. You will be responsible for assessing child service needs, child welfare assessments, and planned social work under the Social Welfare Act. In your role you will support families in different life situations and participate in impactful client work together with a multidisciplinary network. We work according to a systemic operating model enabling joint reflection, professional support and holistic consideration of clients’ situations. The position offers the opportunity to develop your expertise in work with children, youths and families and to do meaningful work to promote their well-being. In our family center teams there are social workers, social care instructors, family workers, family tutors and family therapists. Each team has a team supervisor who supports daily work and client cases. Your immediate supervisor is the Chief Social Worker. We value open collaboration, sharing of expertise and supporting each other. Our strengths are multidisciplinary collaboration, sense of community and cooperative working for the benefit of clients. You are eligible for this post when you have a social worker degree and license. If there are no eligible applicants, we will consider substitutes who meet the substitute eligibility conditions. A person who is studying to become a social worker and has completed basic and subject studies and practical training may temporarily work in the role for up to one year. It is also possible to temporarily employ a person who has completed the following: 1) a suitable university degree in social sciences or a university of applied sciences degree in social and health care, 2) basic and subject studies in social work, and 3) practical training or who has sufficient practical experience and professional skills. We hope to recruit a social work professional with good communication and collaboration skills, ability to work independently and interest in working with children, youths and families in various life situations. A driving licence and the possibility to use one’s own car are necessary due to client mobility. Employer-provided cars are also available for work tasks.
