Do you want to do people-oriented and meaningful work in a multidisciplinary work community?** **Babando is seeking a social worker for the Kainuu reception centre for adults and families for a full-time permanent position.** Babando is a domestic nationwide social and health care operator founded in 2017, providing first-class reception centre services for adults, young people, and families seeking asylum and temporary protection. Our current units are located in Kainuu and Rovaniemi. Over 700 people are served by our services daily. **Job Description** As a social worker, you are responsible for the statutory social care services organized for clients. Your task is to promote and support the social security and functional capacity of clients through social work methods. Your job description includes, among other things, providing guidance and counseling to asylum seekers and those receiving temporary protection, monitoring and promoting well-being, assessing the need for services and support, drafting statements, and providing necessary assistance in emerging problem and crisis situations. You will work in a multidisciplinary team and, when necessary, in close cooperation with various authorities, including the social worker of the wellbeing services county. **What do we expect from you?** We require the qualification and the right to use the professional title of social worker in accordance with the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015). We will also consider applicants with substitute qualifications if formally qualified applicants are not available. Thorough knowledge of the Act on Reception Services and Social Care is important in the work. Previous experience working in a reception centre, with immigrants in a multidisciplinary work community, and experience working with an interpreter is considered an advantage. A driver's license, good IT skills, and good Finnish language skills are essential for the job.
