We are seeking two special education teachers for basic education for the period 4 January 2027–4 June 2028 to develop and implement the Sisukas model to support the schooling of children and young people placed in Tuusula and Järvenpää. The duties are located in the Tuusula and Järvenpää areas, and the workplace is alongside Kellokoski School. The positions are fixed-term because of project funding. The duties include coordinating educational arrangements for pupils living in out-of-home care, as well as individually planning and teaching these pupils. Those appointed will familiarise themselves with the child’s or young person’s school history, support needs and current schooling situation, and take part in network collaboration to agree on starting school at the local school or in a small group taught by Sisukas teachers. The teachers work continuously with wellbeing services county personnel. The work includes close and active multidisciplinary network cooperation, developing and launching a new operating model, and documenting it in accordance with the Sisukas model. The role requires the possibility of using your own car. The Sisukas team’s work emphasises an independent, responsible approach and managing one’s own work. The duties require good interaction and collaboration skills. We hope applicants have strong professional expertise and experience planning support for the growth, wellbeing and learning of children and young people with psychological or behavioural symptoms, and experience supporting pupils in challenging life situations. We expect applicants to have a strong understanding of social and health services practices. Applicants are required to have extensive experience in demanding multidisciplinary support and network collaboration, and familiarity with learning-support processes. Salary, working hours and employment benefits Pay and other terms of employment are determined in accordance with the collective agreement for municipal teaching staff (OVTES) and Tuusula Municipality’s job-evaluation system. The position-specific salary is €3,465.55. Any salary supplements under OVTES are paid in addition. Eligibility requirements are determined by Decree 986/1998 on the qualification requirements for teaching personnel. Copies of certificates proving eligibility will be checked at the interview. If there are no eligible applicants, suitable teacher education and work experience may be considered. The person appointed must provide an acceptable medical certificate regarding their health and present a criminal record extract under section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act no later than 30 days after receiving notification of the appointment decision.
