About the role

Suomen Lauttaliikenne group is a state-owned shipping company responsible for connection vessel, ferry, and cable ferry traffic on 50 routes in Finland. We are looking for a technical inspector for a permanent employment contract. Maintaining functional transport connections in our country of thousands of lakes and islands requires cable ferries, ferries, and connection vessels. As a technical inspector, you are responsible for the maintenance and repair operations of designated vessels, dockings, and the realization of costs within the set budgets. The center of your work is the careful planning and coordination of predictive maintenance activities in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders. Success in the position also requires the ability to react quickly and manage urgent repair work effectively in changing situations. The work requires movement and readiness to travel to vessels in your own area of responsibility in Maritime Finland. What do we expect from you? - Suitable technical education (e.g. marine electrical engineer, marine engineer) - Good understanding of electrical and mechanical engineering – we especially value electrical engineering expertise in the context of modern ship technology - Ability to perform varied and diverse tasks - Good stress tolerance and problem-solving skills - Proactive and planned way of working - Good interaction and cooperation skills Additionally, it is considered an advantage if you have experience in 24/7 maintenance and repair operations and an understanding of predictive maintenance. We value interest in technological development and a desire to learn new things. A holistic cost mindset, taking into account the life-cycle costs of the equipment, is also an advantage.
