The Competence Center's relief staff covers the immediate and short-term substitution needs of nursing units in Kolari. Expertise is expanded systematically as needed, and orientation is provided for all units. Relief staff have pre-planned shifts, according to which different units book employees. We implement community-based shift planning in our units, making it easy to balance work and leisure. Eligibility requirements for the position are a degree as a practical nurse or a previous vocational qualification in the field, as well as registration in JulkiTerhikki and/or JulkiSuosikki (National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health). Sami language skills are considered a special asset. The terms of employment are determined in accordance with the Sote agreement. The position is subject to a 6-month probationary period. Before starting the position, a criminal record extract must be presented in accordance with Section 28 of the Act on the Supervision of Social Welfare and Health Care. Regarding staff vaccination protection, we follow the vaccination protection required by the work and the Communicable Diseases Act. In a possible interview, original study certificates, work certificates, and a valid ID proving eligibility must be presented.
