Mechanical Engineer

We are looking for a mechanical design engineer for our Turku team who is excited about solving technical challenges and designing new things. In your work, you will develop different mechanical solutions from the idea all the way to completion. You will use 3D design, your technical expertise and problem-solving skills to tackle practical challenges. The variety of projects gives you the opportunity to explore different technologies and industries. What you will do - Design solutions in a 3D environment. - Improve the functionality, manufacturability and cost-effectiveness of solutions. - Be responsible for component selection and product-structure management. - Coordinate interfaces between design disciplines, such as mechanics, electrical engineering, automation and simulation. - Take solutions through to implementation and verify their functionality together with the customer. - Participate in concept development or lead smaller entities when needed. What we expect from you - A few years of experience in mechanical design. - CAD skills: SolidWorks or CATIA V6. - Experience with PDM/PLM systems. - An engineering or Master of Science in Technology degree in mechanical engineering or another applicable field. - Understanding of manufacturing methods such as machining, welding and assembly. - Ability to understand the overall picture and develop practical solutions. - Fluent Finnish and English, and a customer-service-oriented approach. The work is carried out mainly in the Turku economic region at Etteplan’s or the customer’s premises. Remote work is possible depending on the project, and the work may involve occasional travel. The position may require a security clearance and drug testing. We want to ensure that your pay at Etteplan is fair and justified. Your pay is based on your skills and contribution in accordance with Etteplan’s practices. The typical monthly salary for this position is €3,000–€4,000, depending on your experience.
