Part-time hourly teacher for Igbo as a mother tongue in basic education, teaching the Igbo curriculum for multilingual 6–18-year-olds in pre-school, basic education and secondary level. The position is a temporary contract for the period 1 September 2026 to 31 July 2027, located within the Language and Culture groups of teaching. The unit focuses on planning, development and coordination of language and culture education, and operates across city schools. The teacher will teach Igbo as a mother tongue to multilingual learners in accordance with the basic education curriculum annex 3. The work time is two hours per week. The school of arrangement is Kuokkala Primary School. Eligibility follows the Government decree 986/1998 for teaching staff (class teacher, special education teacher, special class teacher or language teacher). Applicants must attach certificates proving qualification. The role requires good interpersonal and collaborative skills and knowledge of the Finnish school system. The salary starts at 3168.39–3393.61 EUR per month, with possible additional allowances per OVTES terms. Working time percentage is 8.33%. Start date 1 September 2026 or by agreement. A health certificate and police background check for those working with children must be presented within 30 days of notification of selection.
