The Municipality of Hausjärvi is seeking a youth worker for a school youth work project from 1.10.2026 to 31.12.2027. Join us to do meaningful work with young people together with the youth services team! The project is specifically aimed at students requiring special support. The goal of the project is to create new and effective operating models for school youth work in Hausjärvi and for the schools, so that as many young people requiring special support as possible can experience inclusion and meaningfulness in their school daily life. The project promotes positive interaction and elements of human encounter in everyday school work and aims to develop the community spirit of schools by integrating students requiring special support into Hausjärvi communities as early as possible. The duties of the youth worker include, among other things, strengthening the agency, inclusion, and community spirit of young people, conducting thematic lessons, organizing activating activities for students, further developing the school youth work handbook, and planning and testing new operating models. The employee will plan various events for the school daily life together with the youth services team. Close cooperation with school staff, other operators working in the school, and local child welfare units is central to the project. The project includes a summer break following the school holidays. The wellbeing planner is responsible for the administration of the project. We expect the employee to have knowledge of contemporary youth work, a work approach emphasizing youth participation, initiative, a genuine interest in learning new things, and an innovative approach to work. We require good interaction and communication skills, strong proficiency in various communication channels, and a readiness for multidisciplinary cooperation. Eligibility requirements: Community Pedagogue (UAS), Social Worker (UAS), or a degree as a Youth and Leisure Instructor / Youth and Community Instructor. Previous experience in school youth work and/or special youth work is considered an advantage. The selected person must provide an extract from the criminal record before accepting the position (Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children 504/2002). The performance of the duties requires a private car. Working hours are 38.25 hours per week. Work may occasionally include evening and weekend work.
