Do you want to work for the well-being of children, youth, and families? We are looking for a substitute for the period 31.8.2026 – 28.2.2027. SOCIAL WORKER FOR CHILD WELFARE OUTPATIENT SERVICES Child welfare outpatient services are located within the Children and Youth Client Unit of the South Karelia wellbeing services county. As a social worker in child welfare outpatient services, you will work in a systemic team consisting of social workers, socionomists, and a family therapist. In your work, you will participate in finding various solutions together with clients, their networks, and other experts. You will act as the social worker responsible for the child's affairs and perform planned child welfare social work together with the systemic team. As a child welfare social worker, you will work closely with the child and their loved ones. Your job description includes decision-making regarding client services and monitoring the implementation of decisions. The position also includes official working hours on-call duty. You are the person we are looking for if you are self-motivated, have an active and client-oriented approach to work, and possess good cooperation and interaction skills. Experience in child welfare work is considered an advantage. To support your work, we offer the support of a supervisor and colleagues, work supervision, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The eligibility requirement for the substitute position is the qualification of a social worker according to Section 7 of the Act on Social Care Professionals (817/2015) and professional certification from the Regional State Administrative Agency (Valvira). If no applicants meeting the eligibility requirements are found, the position may be filled by a student of social work or a person with a suitable higher education degree, required social work studies, and sufficient practical experience and professional skill. A valid driver's license is a necessity for performing the duties. The selected substitute must present a criminal record extract as referred to in Section 6, subsection 2 of the Criminal Records Act and an acceptable health certificate within 30 days of receiving notice of selection. The substitute position is subject to a two (2) month probationary period. Salary and other terms of employment are determined according to the SOTE agreement. The substitute position will be filled starting 31.8.2026 or by agreement. At the start of the substitute period, the location will be the House of Children and Youth, Lappeenranta. The area of operation is all of South Karelia. The substitute position requires vaccination protection according to Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act. The wellbeing services county uses an infection safety questionnaire. The questionnaire is completed by everyone coming for patient work or patient work training. The selected person must prove their identity with an official identity document at the start of the employment or official relationship.
