Practical Nurse

The South Savo wellbeing services county Eloisa is seeking two practical nurses for permanent positions in elderly residential services in Kangasniemi starting August 24, 2026, or by agreement. Interviews may be conducted during the application period. The selected employees' work area will include two service homes located in the same courtyard, according to the shift schedule: Annin- and Otontupa and Männikkö. Annin- and Otontupa has 57 client places and offers community-based 24-hour housing and periodic care for family caregivers. The Männikkö group home has 22 client places and currently provides long-term 24-hour housing. The purpose of the elderly residential services is to provide a safe and good life and support self-sufficiency and participation by identifying the resident's resources. Job duties include daily care and nursing tasks, administration of medication, ensuring a meaningful daily life, and clinical tasks. High-quality care work requires a good understanding of the basic tasks, as well as prioritization and stress tolerance skills, and the ability to adapt to varying situations. The work is three-shift work, and the position requires approved medication permits either upon employment or completed during the first third of the employment period. The eligibility requirement is a relevant vocational qualification in the social and health care sector or a previous vocational qualification of the school level in the field, as well as registration in the professional register of the Regional State Administrative Agency (Valvira). Additionally, sufficient oral and written proficiency in Finnish is required for the performance of the duties. The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding pulmonary tuberculosis according to Section 55. A six (6) month probationary period applies to the service relationship. A person working with the elderly must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work in service relationships exceeding 3 months (Supervision Act 741/2023 Section 28).
