Practical Nurse

The wellbeing services county of South Savo (Eloisa) is seeking practical nurses (2) for fixed-term employment in Home Care in the eastern area of Savonlinna for the period 10.8.2026 (or by agreement) - 30.9.2026. Interviews will be conducted during the application period, and positions will be filled as soon as suitable candidates are found. As a practical nurse in home care, you will act as an expert in the client's care. The duties include providing basic care for the client, such as assisting with hygiene and dining, as well as nursing tasks. In the eastern area, home care work for practical nurses is a two-shift system, with the possibility of night shifts. We are looking for an employee with strong professional expertise in nursing and the readiness to work in various multidisciplinary operating environments. In our home care, the staff is competent, interested in client work and its development, and they will orient you to your work. Eligibility requirements are a suitable vocational qualification in the social and health care sector or a previous vocational qualification in the field, as well as registration in the professional register of the License and Supervision Authority (Valvira). Students in the final stages of their studies in the field will also be considered. A driver's license and access to a car are considered an advantage for the performance of the duties. An operational management system and mobile recording are used in home care. Valid medication permits are considered an advantage. We require sufficient oral and written Finnish language skills for the performance of the duties. The position requires vaccination protection as required by Section 48 of the Communicable Diseases Act and a health certificate regarding respiratory tuberculosis according to Section 55. A probationary period applies to the employment relationship. A person working with the elderly must present an acceptable criminal record extract before starting work in employment relationships exceeding 3 months (Supervision Act 741/2023 Section 28).
