Commissioning Engineer

Job Description Boost is a concept by Academic Work where we offer a learning-oriented and development-driven professional the opportunity to deepen their expertise through targeted training and employment in leading companies in the field. Boost consists of two parts: a paid and free specialization period lasting only a few weeks, and a permanent position at Academic Work, through which you begin working at the client company. The current Commissioning Engineer Boost program training will be implemented between October 12 and November 18, 2026. After graduating from the training, you will start working as a consultant for Academic Work at Konecranes. Your employment is permanent and full-time, and it takes effect from the start of the training. As a commissioning engineer, you will spend most of your working time traveling globally to near and far destinations to visit customers. Business trips are continuous and last for weeks or months at a time. As a commissioning engineer, you are responsible for different stages of crane commissioning, such as installing, configuring, and testing systems and software, as well as troubleshooting. During the training, we delve into, for example... - field devices, bus technology, and emergency stop circuits - circuit, electrical, and operational diagrams, troubleshooting, and crane technology - TIA Portal programming We are looking for - A completed degree in electrical or automation engineering; a university degree is an advantage. If your background is from vocational school, we require at least one year of full-time work experience in independent expert roles in the field - Ability and willingness for continuous travel: business trips are usually continuous for long periods, up to 2–3 months - Class B driver's license - Fluent oral and written skills in Finnish and English. - Strong and genuine motivation to boost your career in commissioning and be employed by Konecranes - Organization skills, sense of responsibility, and stress tolerance - Ability for independent work and excellent interaction skills - Ability and willingness to learn quickly and continuously - Commitment to Konecranes' working practices About the Application Process Academic Work handles this recruitment on behalf of its client. The next stages of the application include tests measuring personality traits and cognitive ability. After the tests, we will interview applicants and check references. Before the final selection, applicants will meet a representative from Konecranes. Interviews with Konecranes are scheduled for weeks 10 and 12–13.
