HUS is seeking a registered nurse for a fixed-term substitute position within the internal substitute unit (SISSI) for the Children and Youth Diseases Intensive Care Area. The area treats patients from newborns to young adults, with national responsibility for pediatric cardiac surgery, organ transplants, and serving as the pediatric ECMO center. As a SISSI nurse, you will work in at least two areas of expertise and have the opportunity to deepen your skills in any unit within the intensive care area. Rotation areas include the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Surgical Ward, and Day Surgery Ward at the New Children's Hospital, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit 'Saari' at the Women's Clinic, and the Neonatal Ward L2 in Jorvi. New employees receive a personally tailored orientation program with teaching nurses and continuous training to maintain and develop professional skills. The work environment is known for strong teamwork and specialized expertise in pediatric care. While the days can be demanding, support is always available. Requirements include a valid nursing license, a criminal record extract for working with children, and required vaccinations and health clearances. Experience in intensive care or pediatric nursing, an independent work approach, and a flexible attitude are valued. The role involves shift work.

Responsibilities
- Work in at least two different expertise areas within the intensive care unit
- Provide nursing care for patients from newborns to young adults
- Rotate between units including Pediatric ICU, Surgical Ward, Day Surgery, and Neonatal units
- Participate in the care of pediatric cardiac surgery and organ transplant patients
- Maintain professional skills through continuous training and orientation
Requirements
- Licensed registered nurse
- Criminal record extract for working with children
- Vaccination protection according to the Communicable Diseases Act
- Health clearance for pulmonary tuberculosis
- Experience in intensive care or pediatric nursing (preferred)
