Field Maintenance Worker

The role of a Field Maintenance Worker involves year-round maintenance tasks for sports facilities in the Lohtaja area of Kokkola, as well as other locations designated by the employer as needed. Maintenance sites include, for example, sports fields, fitness tracks, ski trails, hiking conditions, rinks, skating areas, football pitches, and swimming beaches, as well as other tasks assigned by the employer, such as the maintenance of street areas, parks, and sports facilities. The work includes on-call duties during the winter sports season. Eligibility requirements include a vocational qualification in the sports facility field or other suitable education, or sufficient experience in the tasks during both the summer and winter seasons. Performing the duties requires good interaction skills, a customer service orientation, at least a category B driver's license and the possibility of using one's own car, as well as good oral proficiency in Finnish. Additional training relevant to the position and knowledge of machinery used for the maintenance of sports facilities are considered an advantage. Proficiency in Swedish is also considered an advantage. Remuneration and other terms of employment are determined in accordance with the collective agreement for municipal technical personnel. The selected candidate must present an acceptable medical certificate of their health no later than 30 days after receiving the appointment. The position is subject to a six-month probationary period.
