We are looking for one psychologist for each of the following locations, Ulvila and Eurajoki, for student welfare services in pre-primary and basic education for permanent employment. All student welfare psychologists in the wellbeing services county belong to the same team, which currently consists of over 30 psychologists. Despite the distances, psychologists feel they receive collegial support from the work community and truly feel part of the team. The team is led by a lead psychologist, and student welfare psychological services are administratively part of the Lounatuule Family Center, led by the head of the family center, a psychologist. In Eurajoki, the psychologist's area of responsibility covers three basic education schools. In Ulvila, there are five educational institutions. Four of these are primary schools and one is a special school with both primary and lower secondary school students. Additionally, psychological services are provided to pre-primary children in the area, so the age of clients ranges from 6 to 16 years. In planning the job descriptions, we take into account the statutory staffing levels (max. 780 students). The work of a student welfare psychologist is independent expert work, and you can influence your own job description. You will act as an expert in students' growth, learning, and wellbeing in your own school area. As a psychologist, you will work extensively in individual sessions, but student matters are handled in networks with parents, other school staff, and partners. The psychologist's duties include support discussions, psychological assessments related to learning disabilities, planning of support measures, as well as expert tasks in the student welfare and wellbeing work of responsible schools and in cooperation networks. The aim is to increase the proportion of community and preventive work in student welfare. We offer you versatile, responsible, and challenging work in a renewing work environment. You will encounter a large number of people daily, so in the work of a student welfare psychologist, we value good interaction and teamwork skills, an enthusiastic and active multidisciplinary approach, and the ability to work independently. Work experience in student welfare or otherwise with children and young people is considered an advantage. The person selected for the position must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 3 of the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002) before accepting the position. We apply a six (6) month probationary period. The eligibility requirement is the qualification of a psychologist, according to Section 5 of the Act on Health Care Professionals, and suitability for the work. In recruitment, we also consider final-stage psychology students who have completed their internship. In that case, the employment is fixed-term.
