About the role

Jakeman Oy is a company specializing in steel structures. Our factories are located in Uurainen and Kuohula. We design, manufacture and install steel structures for the construction industry and industrial companies. A total of about 50 people work at Jakeman with a total turnover of over 8m€. We are looking for a PRODUCTION MANAGER for a permanent position at the Uurainen factory. Work starts as soon as possible by agreement. In your position, you will report to the production director and be responsible for the daily production activities and personnel management of the Uurainen factory. The position combines production planning and overall management, people management and long-term development of operations. You ensure that production operates safely, efficiently and with quality and that customer promises regarding capacity, quality and delivery reliability are met. You are supported in your position by a production engineer who is responsible for coordinating the daily and current matters of production. You will act as the direct supervisor of the production employees and the installation staff who do travel work. You are responsible for the adequacy of personnel resources and practical supervisory work, such as planning vacations and other leaves, development discussions, preparation of material related to payroll and other administrative tasks of the supervisor. You ensure that responsibilities and goals are clear to everyone and that work is planned and in accordance with common operating methods. Your key tasks are: - planning production capacity and resources at least 4–6 weeks ahead - managing production personnel and supporting motivation - ensuring safe working methods and developing occupational safety - improving productivity and efficient utilization of personnel, facilities and processes - project-specific material purchases and tendering of procurements - developing production operating methods and expertise - ensuring customer satisfaction and timely customer communication during production projects - ensuring production quality and delivery reliability - monitoring and developing operations in accordance with the quality system We expect from you: You are able to perceive the production as a whole and plan activities proactively. You know how to prioritize, make decisions and put agreed matters into practice. You identify production bottlenecks and find practical solutions to improve productivity, quality and delivery reliability. You know how to lead different people, build common operating methods and address deficiencies if necessary. You lead consistently, firmly and fairly. You know how to encourage, motivate and build a good community spirit. Successful performance of the task requires appropriate experience in production and supervisory work. You also have a technical education suitable for the task. Experience in steel structures, machine shop environment, project-based manufacturing or the construction industry helps in adopting the task. We also value experience in production planning, procurement, quality management and operational development. Experience in welding, managing welding production or welding-related qualifications are considered an advantage, but are not essential. Your IT skills are up to date. Fluent written and spoken Finnish language skill is essential in the position.
