The Muisti War and Peace Centre is seeking a university intern for pedagogical duties. The position begins on September 28 and lasts for 2-3 months. The position is full-time with working hours of 36.25 hours per week. The university intern will work with the pedagogical activities of the Muisti War and Peace Centre. The intern's key tasks include receiving, guiding, and instructing school and student groups in Muisti's exhibitions and workshops. They will familiarize themselves with Muisti's pedagogical content and participate in implementing the group visit experience in cooperation with other staff. The intern will participate in the planning and practical arrangements of pupil and student visits. Tasks may include, for example, agreeing on visit times, contacting teachers, preparing workshop materials, and practical tasks related to group guidance. Additionally, the intern will participate in the planning, production, and development of Muisti's learning materials. Work may include, for example, drafting texts and exercises, searching for background material, adapting content for learners of different ages, and testing materials in practice. The intern will also participate in the development and production of content for the sodanmuisti.fi web service. The position is particularly suitable for a university student in the final stages of their studies. Studies in history, social sciences, or educational sciences provide good qualifications for the position, but we also consider applicants from other suitable educational backgrounds. We expect the intern to have an interest in history, pedagogy, and science education, as well as a motivated, creative, and development-oriented approach to work. The position requires good interaction and cooperation skills, initiative, and a desire to work with children and young people. The internship offers an opportunity to gain practical experience in teaching, group guidance, and the production of pedagogical and digital learning materials. The position requires good oral and written skills in Finnish. Proficiency in Swedish and English is considered an advantage. The intern must have internship support granted by a university or higher education institution for the duration of the internship.
