Hi! I am looking for a couple of new part time personal assistants mainly for evening and weekend shifts. I am a 36 year old man who has a muscular atrophy and uses electric wheelchair. I need personal help around the clock and therefore employ multiple personal assistants. The positions that are now open usually have two work shifts per week with a total of about 12 h/wk on average. In the currently planned work schedule the shifts would mostly be on evenings and weekends, so the work may well fit alongside studies, as long as you don't have long practice work periods coming up. The ability to also work other shifts as needed and flexibility in general is however considered a plus. The work would begin near the start of September. I live in Herttoniemi near the metro, work as a software developer and my hobbies include for instance music production, cooking and going to music events. Please note, that your work day may often end in a different place than where it starts, and the locations may not be known much in advance, so it is advised to use public transportation for commuting instead of a car. The role of my assistant is to assist me in all the everyday tasks, such as eating, getting dressed, going to stores, moving arround the city, using the bathroom etc. In other words, to function as my hands and feet when needed, since I can't really do any movement on my own. The job is often quite relaxed and its not about constantly actively doing something, so hopefully you can also spend time for instance by reading or doing other quiet activities, while still being quickly ready to help when needed. The job is also not about caretaking, socializing or such, but mostly physical help in my guidance. There are no strict requirements for the job and prior experience is not needed. I hope you are responsible, situationally/socially aware, punctual and very reliable. It does not matter much whether you speak Finnish or English, but you should be very fluent in your chosen language. The work usually does not include lifting me by hand and I am relatively small-sized anyway, but a reasonable physical fitness is still beneficial. I would personally be your employer. The salary is be paid by the city of Helsinki based on the paygrade B1 of the collective labor agreement of HETA union. Currently that is 13.89 e/h plus evening bonus 15%, night bonus 40%, Saturday bonus 25% and Sunday bonus 100%. If you are interested in the job, please send your free form application in email to joosa.kurvinen@gmail.com. Adding a CV is optional but recommended. I prefer not to have too many interviews, so please invest in your application and tell me enough about yourself that I can get a sense of who you are. Best regards, Joosa Kurvinen
