Hydrodynamics Specialist

Hydrodynamics specialist role at Meyer Turku. The successful candidate will design and verify the hydro- and aerodynamic properties of ships, work from concept to handover in ship projects, and participate in evaluating propulsion power, resistance, aerodynamics, sea-keeping and steering characteristics. Proficiency in hull form design, CFD tools (FineMarine and/or OpenFOAM) is advantageous, as is CAD (AutoCAD and 3D). The role requires curiosity, precision, strong verbal and written English, and teamwork. The job includes independent calculations and reports, coordination of hydrodynamics across concept, sales, design, production and handover phases, and collaboration with shipyard experts, clients, classification societies, authorities and suppliers. The position also involves model testing, sea trial data analysis, and potentially from early design to handover. Applicants must pass a drug test and health screening.
