We are seeking a skilled machinist for our client Polarteknik Oy in a permanent full-time position of 40 h/week, for an indefinite term. Polarteknik Oy is a Finnish company specializing in door systems for rail vehicles; it designs and manufactures high-quality interior door systems for world-leading train manufacturers. The company is known for strong technical expertise, reliability and long-term development work. The role involves diverse metalworking of aluminum profiles as part of door assemblies for trains. You will work on two CNC machines and a semi-automatic saw. You will participate in the production process from machining to measurements and quality assurance. Emphasis is on precision, quality and technical know-how. Tasks include making adjustments, modifying programs and manufacturing pieces according to drawings. You will work closely with the rest of production, but the role also requires independent and responsible working attitude. The work is initially on day shift in two shifts, with a potential move to three shifts in autumn. Day shift 6:00–14:00, evening shift 14:00–24:00. On Fridays you have time off due to longer shifts in the evening weeks. Start of work in accordance with contract, between July and August. Requirements: experience in machinist tasks; experience in making adjustments and modifying programs; ability to read technical drawings; experience in taking measurements with a micrometer; careful and precise work approach; ability to work independently and as part of a team; fluent Finnish. Nice to have: familiarity with Camplus software; experience with CNC machining centers; experience in aluminum machining; metal industry education.
