About the role

Welcome to be part of Viikinki's wonderful work community! We are looking for a substitute for the position of early childhood education childcare worker. You will primarily work in your own unit, but if necessary, we collaborate in the area. Your task is to perform duties according to the early childhood education childcare worker's job description in different groups. You will mainly act as a substitute, but you will also strengthen and enable the functioning of the teams and a smooth everyday life. In our unit, everyone can influence and everyone's strengths are taken into account. We require a flexible approach and expect from you a sensitive educational approach, interaction that respects the child, and good team and work community skills. Viikinki daycare operates in temporary facilities for the first operational period at Mustapuronpolku 1. Viikinki's Keltanot groups are located at Vanhanlinnantie 12. We are located within easy reach in the many-opportunity East Helsinki. As an early childhood education childcare worker, you plan and implement pedagogically emphasized care, education and teaching together with other staff in accordance with the early childhood education unit's action plan, the Helsinki early childhood education plan, the pre-primary education plan and the child's early childhood education plan. You are responsible for the children's needs in daily activities and promote the child's health and well-being. Why work for us? Eligibility requirements: We require that you have a vocational qualification in education and guidance, a vocational qualification in social and health care, or another corresponding suitable qualification, which includes or which you have supplemented with sufficiently extensive modules on child care, education and teaching (Early Childhood Education Act 540/2018, Section 28, Decree 753/2018 Sections 3 and 4). A recognition decision made by the National Agency for Education on the basis of foreign education for the position applied for also fulfills the eligibility requirement. In addition, we require good oral and written skills in Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A tuberculosis clearance for the respiratory organs of those working with children under school age is checked (Communicable Diseases Act Section 55). Experience in the duties of a childcare worker is considered an advantage.
