About the role

At Vindängen day care and preschool, you will work with a committed staff who wish to continuously develop the operations and pedagogy. Everyone in the house collaborates and supports each other in the planning, development, and evaluation of pedagogical activities. As a resource childcare worker in early childhood education, you will participate in planning, implementing, and evaluating care, upbringing, and learning together with the early childhood education teacher and the rest of the staff in your team. We hope you are positive, comfortable with change, and quick to learn new ways of working. You will be employed by the City of Espoo and begin your employment at Vindängen preschool in the Blåsippan group for the 2026-2027 school year; in the group, you will work with two other pedagogues and 14 children. You will be an additional resource in the group, which is in need of an extra adult. At Vindängen day care and preschool, we have 4 day care groups and 2 preschool groups, and the staff has broad and versatile knowledge, which we try to utilize in the best possible way. Everyone's strengths, interests, and special expertise are encouraged. The day care and preschool are in the same building as Vindängen school, which means we collaborate with the school and have access to the school's facilities. The building as a whole may seem large, but we have a calm and secure atmosphere in the unit and see being under the same roof as an advantage for all of us, both children and adults. Vindängen day care and school are centrally located in Hagalund. We are neighbors with Folkhälsan, Arbis, and the Music Institute, and thus have very good access to various cultural and musical opportunities. Our lunch comes from Folkhälsan's kitchen. Nature, with both forest and sea, is close at hand and we move around a lot in our immediate environment. The library in Hagalund is within walking distance, as are the metro and buses; it is easy to get to and from us. There is also access to parking if you travel by car. In our day care, the goal is for everyone, both children and adults, to feel respected, significant, and welcome every day. At Vindängen, we have a positive community where we respectfully support and help each other. Welcome to our team! We offer you ample opportunities for collegial support and learning in a committed work community where we support each other to develop our professional competence, including through studies alongside work. The City of Espoo supports multi-modal studies for a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and a Social Worker in Early Childhood Education with paid study leave. In our unit, newly recruited staff have a mentor to help you get started with your work with us.
