Biology and Geography Teacher

Käpylä Comprehensive School is seeking a lecturer in biology and geography for a fixed-term position from 8.9.2026 to 5.6.2027. Käpylä Comprehensive School is a unified comprehensive school of approx. 900 students. There are approx. 70 teachers in our school and teacher turnover is low. There are approx. 30 school assistants, who work in groups providing regional and centralized demanding special support instruction. We are a comprehensive school providing high-quality basic education for children and young people in the local area. Instruction is in three adjacent locations. Käpylä Comprehensive School has emphasized Spanish bilingual instruction from the first grade and nature and science emphasis from the 7th grade. In fixed-term positions, in the absence of applicants who meet the eligibility requirements, applicants who lack the required eligibility are also considered. A person appointed to a fixed-term official relationship must submit a criminal record extract concerning themselves as intended by the Act on the Checking of the Criminal Background of Persons Working with Children (504/2002). We consider knowledge of the Spanish language an advantage. Some of the teaching is in bilingual Finnish-Spanish classes.
