Tampere region vocational college Tredu is the second largest provider of vocational education in Finland. Tredu operates in eight municipalities in Pirkanmaa. Approximately 17,000 young people or adults study at Tredu annually. There are about a thousand staff members. Tredu serves companies in developing staff competence. We train competent employees and students through apprenticeship and training contracts. For adults, we provide precise training that meets the competence needs of working life. Vocational education is applied for through both continuous and joint application. Additionally, Tredu organizes basic education for adults in Tampere. The education is aimed at persons over 17 years of age who have not completed basic education or who want to supplement their previous studies. We are looking for a vocational instructor for a fixed-term employment period from 1.9. to 31.12.2026. The primary place of work at the start of the employment is the Lempäälä campus. Your task is to guide students of business and tourism at the Lempäälä campus in both vocational and general qualification modules (YTO studies). You will meet and support students in need of assistance on an individual level or in groups in changing learning environments and guidance sites. Additionally, as part of your work, you will guide interrupted and missing studies in Treenaamo (the campus learning environment) according to tasks provided by teachers, always considering the individual special needs of students. Work tasks may be located in different learning environments, other Tredu campuses, or workplaces. The position may also include some evening and weekend work, and tasks may change according to needs. To succeed in the position, you need professional expertise in business or tourism, an understanding of students in need of support and their guidance, and problem-solving skills. Flexibility, cooperation skills, broad-based expertise, initiative, and the ability to adopt and learn new task entities responsibly are emphasized in the role. The eligibility requirement is a suitable university of applied sciences degree or a previous college-level degree, or a vocational upper secondary qualification and at least three years of work experience in a field suitable for the position. Previous experience in vocational education and English language skills are considered an advantage. Good basic skills in general subjects (e.g., mathematics, physics, mother tongue, Swedish, and English), knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) programs, and the ability for independent and proactive work organization are also considered advantages. Before accepting the position, the selected candidate must present a criminal record extract in accordance with Section 6, Paragraph 2 of the Criminal Records Act. Salary consists of a level salary of 2497.52 €/month, a work experience supplement, and possible other salary supplements. We use a probationary period in the positions, which in a fixed-term employment relationship is at most half of the duration of the employment.
