Job Description
The role involves supporting students with autism spectrum disorder and those requiring intensive support in an elementary school group. The group works with several special education assistants alongside a special class teacher. Maining School is a multicultural and diverse, music- and dance-oriented comprehensive school. Approximately 630 students from grades 1 to 9 attend the school, with 75 teachers and numerous teaching assistants. The school emphasizes music for grades 3-9 and dance for grades 7-9. It also offers small learning support groups and preparatory education. Join our enthusiastic, active, and skilled team! Maining School is located in Kivenlahti, Espoo, with good transportation connections. School name and address: Maining School, Maininkitie 23, 02320 Espoo Working hours: At least 21 hours/week. The position may also be filled with full hours, including morning and afternoon care. Weekly working hours may vary annually based on available resources for assistant services. Work and salary payments are interrupted for no more than 10 weeks per year during school breaks. The break period is determined annually. The position is temporary, from August 12, 2026, to May 31, 2027. Qualifications: Suitable vocational qualification or equivalent, e.g., practical nurse or developmental disability caregiver. We also consider non-qualified applicants for this temporary position. Experience working with children requiring support is required. Applicants must present a criminal record extract as per the Criminal Records Act, section 6.2.
