Payroll Strategy & Compliance Manager

Senior Manager responsible for the global payroll strategy and compliance for Remote. Lead the Product Strategy & Compliance function across Remote's payroll platform, translating regulatory requirements into scalable product capabilities, and ensuring alignment with product strategy and business goals. Oversee regulatory interpretation across multiple jurisdictions, drive compliance-by-design, and partner with Product, Engineering, Legal, Operations, and executive stakeholders. Provide strategic direction on regulatory developments, market requirements, and regulatory readiness; influence roadmap and multi-country implementation. Manage up to 6 direct reports in Compliance, Product Compliance, Payroll, or related functions; location is flexible as Remote operates fully remotely with global teams. The role includes leading a team, defining governing frameworks, and ensuring the team remains a trusted partner to stakeholders. Key duties include monitoring regulatory changes, supporting country expansion, and building scalable compliance architectures within products and workflows.
