Job Description
We are seeking an occupational therapist for outpatient services for children, adolescents, and adults at Haapajärvi Region Rehabilitation Services. Clients are referred from Haapajärvi, Haapavesi, Kärsämäki, Pyhäjärvi, Pyhäntä, and Reisjärvi. The primary workplace is Haapavesi social and health center. Our unit employs physiotherapists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, care assistants, and a responsible unit manager. In addition to face-to-face consultations and working in clients' everyday environments, remote work via OmaPohde is recommended for client work, assessing the suitability of telehealth for early guidance, therapy needs assessment, check-ups, network collaboration, and group therapies. The multi-location work involves working at the employee’s main workplace as well as at other locations such as the employer’s other facilities, clients’ or partners’ premises, or other venues. The work mainly focuses on early occupational therapy guidance and counseling for children and school-aged children, including guidance visits, therapy needs assessments at clinics, and, if necessary, home, daycare, or school visits, as well as the implementation of therapy periods at discretion. The role requires the ability to use a personal vehicle. You will also have the opportunity to work in the daily environments of adolescents, adults, and elderly clients. Collegial support is available from occupational therapists within the unit, as well as from occupational therapists across Pohde’s regional services and expertise centers. Regular meetings are held via Teams, and in-person contact is possible when needed. We are a training- and development-oriented organization. We offer: - Multidisciplinary team support: collegial support from professionals and management experienced in rehabilitation services. - Meaningful work: utilizing your expertise in rehabilitation and functional capacity within clients’ own environments. The work is highly tailored to client needs. - Diverse tasks: including early support guidance, needs assessments as part of a multidisciplinary team, intensive and/or interventionist therapy, and guiding families, networks, and third-sector actors. Creativity and problem-solving with clients and networks are encouraged. - Continuous development: opportunities to enhance your skills and training. We value good communication and collaboration skills, the ability to organize independently while adhering to service area models, and the courage to try new approaches with an enthusiastic attitude. In addition to professional guidance and assessment skills, social group and network work skills, clear communication, and flexibility in change management are considered advantages. Join our team! We look forward to your application. Qualifications include licensure under the Finnish Act on Healthcare Professionals (559/1994) or equivalent registration. Selected candidates will be asked to present original certificates of education and work experience. Applicants must be registered in the register maintained by the National Supervisory Authority for Welfare and Health (Terhikki and/or Suosikki). Interviews may be conducted during the application period. Before starting the position, the selected individual must present a criminal record extract as specified in the Criminal Records Act (504/2002) and the Act on the Supervision of Social and Health Care (741/2023). A trial period of up to 6 months applies. We follow the vaccination requirements mandated by employment law and infectious disease legislation. We value diversity and aim to recruit employees from various backgrounds. We are committed to promoting equality and non-discrimination.
