Early Childhood Education Teacher

We are hiring early childhood education teachers for the upcoming season, mainly for contracts starting in August, across Helsinki. Recruitment for fixed-term roles is centralized to make applying as easy as possible. In your application you can indicate your preferences regarding the workplace, for example which part of Helsinki you come from or for what period you seek work. You will work with preschool groups; as a teacher you are responsible for the pedagogical activities in accordance with the early childhood education and pre-school plans, the unit’s operating plan and the child’s goals. Together with your team and the children you plan, implement, document and evaluate activities. We conduct interviews and select applicants during the application period, so the situation regarding open positions varies. Qualifications: in accordance with the Finnish National Agency for Education (Varhaiskasvatuslaki 540/2018) or transitional provisions (75 §) with a Bachelor’s degree in education or a suitable university of applied sciences degree or a previously equivalent vocational college degree; an endorsement decision based on foreign education from the National Agency for Education is also valid. In addition, good Finnish oral and written skills and a clean criminal background check for working with children (504/2002). TB clearance regarding airborne tuberculosis for children under school age is checked (Tartuntalaki § 55). We also consider students nearing completion of studies and applicants who do not yet have a recognition decision from the National Agency for Education for foreign qualifications.
