Postdoctoral Research Fellow

We are looking for 12 Postdoctoral Research Fellows in the field of next-generation semiconductor technologies. The full-time positions will be filled for a fixed-term period of 3 years and are connected to Tampere University’s FutureChips Postdoctoral Programme and focus on fundamental technology and methods development for next-generation semiconductor technologies. The programme’s four interconnected semiconductor research areas are: Advanced compound materials and heterostructures Novel architectures Chip design Advanced packaging The positions will be located in the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences or in the Faculty of Information Technology and Communication Sciences. Job description The successful candidate will design, coordinate and implement their own research and publish results in high-impact venues. Research scope The postdoctoral research fellow will develop semiconductor technologies and the relevant knowledge base. Requirements Applicants must: have a doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g. future electronics, electrical engineering, photonics, micro- and nanotechnology, semiconductor physics, advanced materials, or chip design) by the application deadline of 31 August 2026. have the ability to pursue independent scholarly activity. have not resided or carried out their main activity (e.g. work, studies) in Finland for more than 12 months in the 36 months immediately preceding the application deadline (31 August 2026). have fluent spoken and written English skills. According to the criteria applied to teaching and research staff under the Finnish University Salary System, the position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow is placed on level 5-6 of the job requirements scale. The gross salary will be 4500 euros (€) before employee taxation.
