About the role

Researcher, Mobile robotics and intelligent systems We are seeking a Researcher in Mobile Robotics and Intelligent Systems for a permanent fulltime position in the Clean and Sustainable Solutions innovation hub at the Metropolia Myyrmäki campus. Our innovation hub brings together Metropolia's and its partners’ expertise. We work in close collaboration with other research parties, companies, and cities. Our main activities are focused on smart mobile robotics, AI and data, urban farming, circular economy and sustainable energy systems. Role Description: You will act as a researcher in research, development and innovation projects that e.g. study situational awareness systems that rely on mobile robots, sensor systems, swarm intelligence and advanced use of data. You will also take part in building a sandbox for testing such systems. In your role you will identify new research opportunities and take part in, or take charge of, applying for funding for further research. In this position it is possible to grow into a team leader. What we expect: - Multiple years of state-of-the-art research experience in intelligent, autonomous robotic systems, including swarm intelligence and artificial intelligence in robotics. - Doctoral degree and recent peer reviewed publications in a relevant field (published within the last 3 years) - Hands-on experience in applying for Horizon Europe, Business Finland or similar funding. - Competence in planning work packages and tasks of a project. Preferably for projects with project partners.
