HUS is seeking a Specialist Physician for the surgical line of the Obstetrics and Gynecology division. The surgical line is Finland's largest gynecological surgical unit, performing nearly 6,000 procedures annually. The operation is guided by patient-centricity, evidence-based high-quality care, teamwork among top professionals, community, and cost-effective Lean thinking. This is a clinical specialist position involving benign gynecological surgery, as well as related ward and outpatient clinic activities. The role requires a willingness to work broadly across various functional and placement points within the surgical line. The selected candidate should be familiar with and interested in gynecological emergency and surgical operations, diagnostics, and their development. Good cooperation skills, flexibility across different professional groups, and a positive attitude toward change are required. The position includes on-call duties. Work begins on September 28, 2026, or as agreed. The position requires specialist qualification in obstetrics and gynecology and a licensed physician status or permission to practice. Experience in a university-level gynecological surgery unit and active research work are considered advantageous. Vaccination protection according to the Infectious Diseases Act and a tuberculosis health certificate are required for those working in patient areas.
