We’re currently recruiting for a rapidly scaling NewSpace company as they build out their systems engineering capability in Berlin. As Senior Systems Engineer you will support the design and build of the company’s latest generation of satellites, coordinating the work of software and hardware engineers by defining and decomposing requirements, communicating with end users, and owning project direction across its full lifecycle. To be considered, you’ll need to be capable of demonstrating: A degree in aerospace engineering, electronics, computer science, or a related field Experience in the design and development of nanosats and/or small sats Knowledge of satellite subsystems, including communication, power, and propulsion Experience of setting requirements across different expertise groups, and decomposing high-level requirements into well-defined system and subsystem requirements Ability to communicate through and understand graphical representations (schematics, sequences, state diagrams) Professional requirements-writing experience Also nice to have, though not essential: Proficiency with engineering software for satellite design and analysis, e.g. SolidWorks Experience analysing mission budgets such as power, link, or delta-V Experience with orbit simulation tools such as STK or GMAT Experience with DFMEA Basic working knowledge of C/C++ or Python Knowledge of UML/SysML Project and risk management skills Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence) Sitting at the centre of a cross-functional engineering effort, this role will be about turning high-level mission needs into well-defined system and subsystem requirements that hardware and software teams can effectively build against.
