We are seeking a Surveying Engineer for a permanent position starting September 1, 2026, or by agreement. We offer a versatile and responsible expert role combining the development of surveying services, supervisory duties, and a key role in municipal development. Plot and Surveying Services Our Community Sector's mission is to build a functional, safe, sustainable, and pleasant living environment. You will work in an organization where people enjoy working - according to employee well-being surveys, our community spirit is exceptionally good and staff turnover is low. We commit to quality in everything we do and offer you the opportunity to influence your own work and feel pride in its results. In Plot and Surveying Services, you will be responsible for the management and development of the municipality's land assets. Our work includes, among other things, the acquisition of raw land, the transfer of plots, the formation of real estate and real estate register entries, the maintenance of the plan base map, as well as official and other statutory field measurements. You will work in a close-knit and competent expert team of about half a dozen people, where cooperation, professionalism, and a development-oriented mindset are valued. Job Description As a Surveying Engineer, you will work on versatile and meaningful tasks. Your work includes measurements related to building control and calculation tasks for real estate formation. Additionally, you are responsible for the maintenance and timeliness of map data, as well as the management of the address register and other key registers. You will also act as the municipality's representative in regional surveying projects, where you can influence the development of the area more broadly. In your role, you will serve as the supervisor of surveyors and lead the surveying services entity decisively forward. You will have the opportunity to develop operations and implement new solutions. The work involves close cooperation with municipalities in the Tampere region and other stakeholders, allowing you to operate in a wide expert network. In the future, the job description will expand to include work with the 3D city model, providing an excellent opportunity to develop with the latest solutions in the field. The work is primarily office-based but includes a suitable amount of variety in the form of field work. Skills You will work with modern tools: we use, among others, 3Dwin field measurement software, Lupapiste/KuntaNet, Yt-CAD/AutoCAD, ArcGIS geographic information software, and the Tweb document management system. In field measurements, we utilize high-quality Topcon and Trimble measurement devices. Previous experience with these systems is a plus, but the most important thing is the desire to learn and develop. You will succeed in this position if you bring good cooperation skills and an active approach to networking. We value responsibility, diligence, and a customer-oriented way of working - as well as the ability to act independently as the situation requires. Previous experience in surveying engineer duties, a municipal operating environment, or supervisory work is considered an advantage but is not essential. This position is suitable for you whether you are at the beginning of your career or an experienced professional. Attitude is what matters: the desire to learn new things, utilize technology, and participate in developing surveying services to be even better. We offer a training-friendly work environment where you can develop your skills and deepen your expertise. The job description can also be flexibly modified according to your skills and experience. With thorough orientation, we ensure that you get off to a smooth start and can operate independently in your work. Eligibility The eligibility requirement for the position is a degree as a Surveying Engineer (UAS) or a Surveying Technician. The selected person must present a health suitability statement before starting work. Due to the nature of the work, the performance of the duties requires a valid B-class driver's license and the possibility of using one's own car. The work has a general working time of 38 hours and 15 minutes per week, primarily day work from Monday to Friday, with partial remote work possibilities when the tasks allow. The terms of employment are determined in accordance with the collective agreement for municipal technical staff (TS). The position-specific salary is €3,593.73/month; additionally, a professional supplement according to the collective agreement is paid based on applicable work experience, as well as the possibility of a personal supplement based on skills and performance.
