Ship Electrician

Our client is a long‑standing electrical industry operator delivering demanding electric installation, maintenance and repair work in maritime and industrial environments. The company emphasizes strong professional expertise, high quality workmanship and practical problem solving. We are now seeking an experienced Ship Electrician for a permanent position in Tornio. As a Ship Electrician you will work on maintenance, repair and installation tasks for ships’ electrical systems. The job may include locating faults, restoring electrical systems, replacing components and implementing new installations. The position is often challenging and requires solid electrical know‑how. Older ships may lack up‑to‑date electrical diagrams or other documentation, so problems must be solved on site by inspecting, measuring and drawing conclusions. We are looking for a worker with experience in demanding electrical tasks and the ability to make independent decisions. The job also includes documenting and reporting performed work. We expect from you: appropriate electrical trade education and strong hands‑on experience in electrical installation, maintenance or repair work. Prior experience with ship electricity or working in a marine environment is considered an advantage. We especially value: strong fault finding and problem solving skills; independent, responsible and thoughtful work approach; ability to interpret electrical drawings and describe system operation even without prepared documentation; careful documentation and reporting skills; readiness to work in varying and occasionally challenging conditions. The role requires fluency in Finnish or Swedish and good English for technical material, documentation and workplace communications. We offer: a permanent and varied job in demanding electrical engineering tasks, a competitive salary and opportunities to develop your professional skills. You will have suitable tools and the support of an experienced team. Every day brings new technical challenges. If you are interested, please send your application and CV as soon as possible. In your application, tell about your education, work experience and experience with ship electricity, fault finding and independent problem solving. Start date will be agreed.
