About the role

We are looking for an innovative and development-oriented early childhood education teacher for a group of 1-2 year olds at Myllyratas daycare. Another teacher and a childcare worker work in the group. You listen to the child with a sensitive ear and are genuinely present in the children's everyday life. You meet the child sensitively as an individual and as a member of the group. You see the child's growth, development and learning as a positive path that you can walk together with the child, guardians and the team. You will participate together with other early childhood education teachers in the unit in the development and evaluation of the pedagogical operational culture. As an early childhood education teacher, you are responsible for the construction of your child group's operational culture and learning environment, the planning, implementation, development and evaluation of pedagogical activities and the support of children's individual learning in accordance with the Helsinki early childhood education and pre-primary education plan, the early childhood education unit's operational plan and the child's VASU. Eligibility requirements: We require that you have eligibility in accordance with the Early Childhood Education Act (540/2018) or, in accordance with the transitional provision (Section 75), a bachelor's degree in education (lto), a suitable university of applied sciences degree or a previous equivalent college-level degree, e.g., a kindergarten teacher's or social educator's degree (Act 272/2005 and Decree No. 608/2005). A recognition decision made by the National Board of Education on the basis of foreign education for the position applied for also fulfills the eligibility requirement. In addition, we require good oral and written skills in Finnish. The selected person must present a valid criminal record extract for working with children (504/2002). A report on the respiratory tuberculosis of those working with children under school age is checked (Infectious Diseases Act Section 55). When you start a permanent employment relationship as an early childhood education teacher in the City of Helsinki in 2026, we offer you an incentive bonus of 2000 euros. The bonus is paid only once to the same person.
