Project Engineer, Cost Control

We are seeking a Project Engineer for an industrial investment project, with a focus on project cost control, cost tracking and financial reporting. The position is in the Kymenlaakso region and will initially last approximately one year, with the possibility of continuation. Location: Kymenlaakso Duration: 12 months + possible extension Focus: Cost control Your role You will work as part of the project site organisation and support project management with up-to-date cost information. Your key duties include: • Tracking the project budget, actual costs and commitments • Maintaining cost forecasts and identifying and analysing variances • Reviewing purchase orders, invoices and cost allocations in cooperation with the different project parties • Monitoring and documenting the cost impact of variations and additional work • Preparing regular cost reports for project management and the client • Cooperating with procurement, engineering, the site team, contractors and finance • Supporting other reporting and project engineering tasks in accordance with your agreed area of responsibility. We are looking for someone with • Technical or commercial education suitable for industrial work, for example a Master of Science in Technology, engineer, Bachelor of Business Administration or technician qualification • Experience in project cost tracking, cost control, reporting or similar project engineering duties • Strong Excel skills and readiness to use project finance, reporting and documentation systems • Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, purchase orders, invoicing and change control • Experience in industrial investment, construction or installation projects; EPC or EPCM delivery experience is an advantage • An analytical and careful approach to work and the ability to identify cost variances • Spoken and written Finnish and English skills that enable smooth communication and handling of documents • Readiness to work in the Kymenlaakso region, which is an absolute requirement.
